DALLAS (AP)—The battered reputation of Josh Howard took another hit this week when an online video surfaced showing the Dallas Mavericks forward disrespecting the national anthem. In a video posted on YouTube, Howard is shown on a football field at a charity flag football game. As the national anthem plays in the background, Howard approaches a camera and says: “‘The Star Spangled Banner’ is going on right now. I don’t even celebrate that (expletive). I’m black.” sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-mavericks-howard&prov=ap&type=lgnsCan someone please tell me what being Black, has to do with "celebrating" the national anthem? They shuold throw his ass out of the NBA, he is a disgrace!

Kicking him out of the NBA would not be a violation of his First ammendment rights. The NBA is a buisness, he can be fired just like you or I could for being an embarrassment to our employers

He was not at work.

He was not at work. You are allowed to say what you want when you are off the clock. Not true, Osprey and I can be fired for off the clock remarks, political actions, or peaceful protests that could reflect in a negative light for the company, and it's customers we work for!

He was not at work. You are allowed to say what you want when you are off the clock. Not true at all. Your employer can fire you at anytime they choose. If you are in a high profile job you have to be smart enough to keep your mouth shut. Of course, no one ever accused Josh Howard of being smart.

I found the video. Just goes to show ya, you'd better be on your toes, and not make offhand remarks that might be captured on a cell phone.
