Several years ago, Steve Mazan, a stand-up comedian, was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer. Unsure of how much time he had left, Mr. Mazan immediately set out to achieve his life-long dream -- perform comedy on the David Letterman show. Tonight that goal became a reality. It didn't always seem like this was going to happen. After hearing about his illness, Mazan began petitioning CBS to let him perform at the Ed Sullivan Theater. He even started a website, the darkly comic "DyingtoDoLetterman.com." But CBS said, "No dice." Just because Mazan had cancer, CBS wasn't automatically going to book him on "The Late Show With David Letterman." In other words, Mazan would have to earn it. tv.yahoo.com/blog/dying-to-do-letterman--568Yoou can see his performance here www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDzo-29ASlovery funny

Just watched his standup on Letterman, and I loved his observational routine. Too funny! But many of the comments from YouTube members found his bits unfunny, amateurish or old-school comedy. Why??!!! Does comedy have to always be the hate-filled, loud, abusive & curse-filled rants that it's evolved into? Thank goodness there's a comedian out there, who still knows how to make us laugh at ourselves without being an a$$ on stage. Good for him.

His timing was fantastic, his facial expressions perfect. I thought he was very funny. There are always people who gotta hate on somebody
