What English word can have 4 of its 5 letters removed and still retain it's original pronunciation?

No, that's not the answer........but you guys keep coming up with alternate answers to riddles, that make perfect sense! It's a 5-letter word that is pronounced exactly the same when you spell it with 5 letters.......or when it's spelled with one letter.

Thanks, it was a lucky guess really. We use queues at work.

I knew it had to be a word that was pronounced the same as a letter in the alphabet. I went through the entire alphabet in my head. I'm a pretty good speller but I didn't realize that queue was spelled that way.
Nicely done, Janice.

That's one of my favorite Scrabble words to play, when I've got too many "U"s and the "Q" on my rack.
