Amy Poehler, who's pregnant with her first child with husband Will Arnett, will take a maternity leave from Saturday Night Live after the November election - but she won't be coming back, according to the latest issue of Men's Vogue: "It's gonna be really hard — Boyz II Men hard — to say goodbye to yesterday. 'SNL' was dangerous, late-night, last-minute and star-studded, but like any good drug, you need to know when to put it down." thesuperficial.com/2008/09/amy_poehler_leaving_saturday_n.php

Dang! I really liked her on SNL. I bet she got the "movie bug" after starring in "Baby Mama." It was a surprisingly funny movie.

I think the show will be over soon... People have been saying that for decades. Every time it looks like it's going to end, they reinvent the show with a whole new cast, save maybe one or two. We'll see.

I think the show will be over soon... People have been saying that for decades. Every time it looks like it's going to end, they reinvent the show with a whole new cast, save maybe one or two. We'll see. I was going to say the same thing, Chile. They've been sounding the death knell for SNL for the last 10 years. Then one or two young comedians will come out of nowhere, and turn into break-out stars. The one thing that SNL has always had is, what they call the "work horse" player(s). Phil Hartman was one of those. He could play a father, a village idiot, a woman, a news anchor or whatever they needed for any sketch. Someone like Adam Sandler was pretty much a "one trick pony". But Hartman & Amy Poehler could fit into any sketch.
