LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Chris Brown has been charged with felony battery after an alleged violent incident on Saturday night, Access Hollywood has learned. Earlier on Sunday, the LAPD was investigating Brown for assault following an alleged domestic violence felony battery against a woman reported to be the singer's girlfriend, Rihanna , at 12:30 AM on Sunday in Los Angeles. I've been following this story, and I hope it puts his career into a nose-dive. He's already lost many endorsements, and Rihanna has cancelled several concerts. The rapper, "T.I.", was defending Chris Brown, and said something like......."We're celebrities, we make mistakes." Mistakes???!!!
Rihanna and her publicity machine aren't commenting at all on the story. If she gets back together with him, she's an idiot.
What's interesting lately, is that in the recent past, companies tended to give their "bad boy (and girl)* celebrities a pass, then retaining their services - no matter what they'd done. With the economy tanking, those companies can't afford to offend any of their customers, so they aren't giving them a second chance. Screw up once - you're gone!

I'm sure I'm the only one in this category, but who the heck is Chris Brown? I assume he's some kinda singer? Until this story came out, I had no idea who he was. And I've never heard of Rihanna. Is she someone I should know?
But, I agree with thong - this animal needs to be put down. Hard.

I was listening to Ryan Seacrest's radio show yesterday (Tuesday) and he said "sources" said Rihanna was in the ER screaming and crying and could be heard in the waiting rooms...what the hell did he do, anyone hear yet? He must have beat the holy hell out of her!?!
And yes, both are singers, her last album did really well, she had numerous hits off of it, and I believe he sang a song on it with her?

Reps for Jay-Z have been quoted as saying Chris Brown is a "walking dead man".
(I added him to my Death Pool)

She had large contusions and cuts on her face, and multiple bite marks on her arms. Rhiana is the darling of the R&B world, and supposedly there are "contracts" out on Chris Brown now.

I always loved Rihanna and her music and thought Chris Brown looked like a conceited (deleted expletive). I don't know why she found him attractive. Whenever I see men with that kind of smirk on their faces, I want to punch them in the face.
Anyway . . . . . .
I feel so sorry for her. I hope she has enough respect for herself not to go back to him. I read another story that said he wrote on his facebook that everyone would understand why he beat her when the truth of how horrible of a person she was came out. What a disgusting jerk with an anger problem. I hope he gets locked up for a long, long time.

The only thing that everyone should understand is that NO man should EVER hit a woman under ANY circumstances...PERIOD!

Most people who start a fight have a limited ability to communicate. Unfortunately sometimes it is only one of the two in the fight who is lacking in this ability and the other if forced to respond in the only way that the idiot understands.

The following statement was issued Sunday by a spokesman on behalf of Chris Brown: "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. "Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. "While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. "Those posts or writings under my name are frauds," the statement concludes. www.people.com/people/article/0,,20259349,00.html

He shouldn't have done it, but I'm glad he is getting help and I hope he means every word of that. I hope he feels the weight of what he did, not just because he's being criticized, but on his own in his heart and that he changes because of it.
