He was out all of '07, sounds like another Duncan reinvent project to me, we'll see...

He had shoulder surgery due to a comebacker that hit him.
Kinda reminds me of *shudders* Jason Marquis, hopefully he works out a lot better than that guy did.
We re-signed Aaron Miles to a one year deal today to

He was 5 and 5 with an era of 6.1 when he got hurt. This guy is a roll of the dice. I hope he comes up 7 or 11 and not craps!

Anything at this point is a roll of the dice. The Brewers rolled the dice last year and spent more on Soup than any other player in their history, and it didn't pay off.
This guy is only 1.5 million dollars, and was an innings eater his other years. in '04 he went 13-6 with the Cubs.
I don't think this is a bad deal at all.

Only 1.5 million dollars? Ha ha ha ha Athlete's salaries are so ridiculous that we say only 1.5 million. That's just crazy. I wish I were a professional athlete!
You're right, though, he's worth a roll of the dice. I hope he has his best year ever!

Compared to the other pitchers out there, (and I realize how ridiculous it is) but 1.5 is a bargain.
At least we got somebody

I heard that the Rams fired the offensive staff and are now lookin at Cam Cameron from the Dolphins (you know, the 1-15 jackass) as an offensive coordinator.
I'm like, hey, I'm a terrible coach, why not hire me at half the price!!?

I hope so... he hasn't pitched in over a year... Let's hope he remembers how. Otherwise, we could be looking at '09

Yeah, I'm basically holding my breath right now.
It's in Dave Duncan's capable hands now...........

To say I'm disappointed in the Cardinals' off-season maneuvers is an understatement. This is 2 years in a row now... last year we got Kip Wells... this year we get a reconstructed starter (which, in my book, doesn't look much better than Kip Wells. i'll reserve final judgment until Spring Training, or as i like to call it - Resurrection Day!)

That and the loss of Edmonds, the greatest center fielder we've ever had.

I dunno... I thought Willie McGee covered that territory as well... I don't believe he won the Gold Glove but he could play his position.
But - losing Jimmy will hurt. I just hope the kids are ready to step up...
