Drag race king John Force bowls 'em over in Daytona at NASCAR media day John Force, driver of the Castrol GTX High-Mileage Ford Mustang in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series and 14-time series Funny Car champion, visited Daytona International Speedway Friday. As one might expect, he was wildly entertaining when questioned by the NASCAR media. The NHRA season opened last week with the 47th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif., where Force's 24-year-old daughter Ashley made her professional debut in Funny Car. Todd, Scelzi, and Anderson kick off 2007 with big wins at WinternationalsFour-time world champion Gary Scelzi quickly salved the wounds of a forgettable 2006 season by winning the 47th annual CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Winternationals when final-round opponent Robert Hight crossed the centerline and was disqualified. Reigning Auto Club of Southern California Road to the Future Award winner J.R. Todd also found the winner's circle at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona by beating a tire-shaking Brandon Bernstein, and three-time Pro Stock world champ Greg Anderson defended his race title from one year ago.
