The St. Louis Cardinals place struggling closer Jason Isringhausen on the 15-day disabled list because of a cut to his pitching hand. Isringhausen has an 8.00 earned run average and six blown saves. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported last weekend that Isringhausen hurt the hand striking a television set in frustration in manager Tony La Russa's office. Isringhausen was 32-for-34 in save opportunities last year, a season after he missed the team's World Series run due to hip surgery. The team purchased the contract of right-hander Chris Perez, the closer at Triple-A Memphis, and transferred right-handed reliever Josh Kinney from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. www.ksdk.com/sports/sports_article.aspx?storyid=146383

Izzy called the meeting to request being taken off the closer role. He punched the tvs out of frustration.
It's a shame but hopefully this time he'll have will allow him to clear his head.
I didn't get to see any of the games since Thur as my best friend came into town and I took Thur & Fri off to have the bachelor party, rehersal & dinner, and the wedding on Sat.
But I heard Perez looked good
