OK.
Harley Davidson's V-Twin engine roar is correct.
MGMs Lion Roar is correct.
There is one more and it has to do with television.

OK. Harley Davidson's V-Twin engine roar is correct. MGMs Lion Roar is correct. There is one more and it has to do with television. Actually, HD's V-Twin is NOT trademarked... HD tried to trademark it, but other manufacturers of V-Twin motorcycles say that is the sound a V-Twin makes. It was tied up in courts for quite a while and then HD finally pulled its case... so, while it is a distinctive sound, it is not trademarked... another tradmarked sound is NBC's chimes.

The NBC chimes is the final answer. The book that I have says that the only three trademarked sounds are: Harley's V-Twin Engine, NBC's three chimes, and MGM's Lion's Roar. I'll have to look into the Harley one when I have more time. If it is indeed wrong, I'll write to the institute that published the book and let them know.

check here, Chile: Harley DavidsonHD claims that they still hold trademark rights even without the trademark, but they dropped their efforts to trademark the sound in August 2001.

There were more than three sounds actually tradmarked, I researched this at one time for a company I use to work for.
HD withdrew theirs when there were others that protested it.
